Washi Tag Swap

Another UKScrappers challenge this time to use washi tape. I have several rolls as it keeps calling me but I've never really been sure what to do with it. I had purchased Quick Cards Magazine which had a feature on Washi tape and got the idea of covering card with the tape and die cutting it from there. The tape was all from Paperchase. I really like the background its stamped with craftwork cards alphabet stamps on Kraft an effect I will definately try again.

Flowers and Friends

Another page from the last Cyber crop, I used many scraps of paper, a bit of washi tape and some background stamps, was pleased with the freshness of the page and the colours used remind me of the day at the local fete.

Love at first sight

A page completed during the UKScrappers cybercrop. I used Kraft for the background and MME papers. Especially liked the frill made by folding grey and white washi tape.

Monday, 5 November 2012

Thrilled with this layout for my wedding album, I used a class called patchworkpapers by SuzySnail on UKScrappers as the inspiration. The patchwok pieces were cut with a square punch and then cut in half and arranged on the background paper.

Another UkScrappers swap this time FRANKEN-FINGS I used spray inks which I let run vertically down the paper for the background and the used an Amy Tangerine safety pin for the arms, a Dear Lizzie stamp of the Jar for the body and a freebie off of Craft Stamper mag for the head and legs and coloured with promarkers. Not my usual style but had fun doing it.

Domino book

This tiny book was made from 2 Dominoes measuring just under 1" by 2" (kindly donated by John and Sarah) It was based on a book in the craft stamper magazine and became a swap on the UK Scrappers website.

I got Audrey as a swappee who wanted the word CALM included on her book.
The covers were decorated with alcohol inks and the inside distressed with seasonal distress ink and stamped.
Hoping Audrey likes the book.

July Tag Swap Steampunk

3  new Tags with a steampunk theme for a UK Scrappers swap challenge.
As much as I love all things grungy struggled for inspiration with these but thanks to the lovey ladies at Birds in the Barn at Marks Tey suggesting the use of acetate I finally completed these. So the base card was distressed using a cogs mask then stamped the keys on the acetate and distressed and painted with mica powder some keys die cut by Peta a lovely Australian lady I have corresponded with via a Smash book facebook site  I hope their new owners like them.

Really pleased how these have turned out, 3 tags created with distress inks. The theme was Hexagons for a tag swap so I have distressed through a piece of net and then covered some stickers which were hexagon shape with glitter. The wording stamps are Tim Holtz.

Made this Tag to send to the USA on a stash swap using the Little Claires bunting stamp and coloured with promarkers really like the simplicity.

A completed page from my wedding album. Its all being completed in black and white along with pale and dusky pinks. My wedding was very informal and mostly outdoors, as we had the service in a small country church and then walked to our reception where we had a marquee in the gardens of a lovely old house. I think the colours keep it formal in the album but also keep the days softness.

Hello my first blog! The purpose of this blog is to fill it with all the craft items I make so instead of shoving them in a drawer or giving them away I have a record of my achievements and can see how my style develops as I learn new techniques.
