Counterfeit Layout

The first layout made with this months kit, I hadn't realised how much other stuff I had going on this month!

The background paper and the large ticket are from Papermania and a selection of washi tape stripes.
The photo was taken after the school bazaar last Christmas,
following some face painting antics.

Journaling needs to be completed

Counterfeit Kit July - Guest Designer

I was incredibly honoured to receive an email asking me to be this month guest designer on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Since discovering the CKCB my scrapbooking has increased and become so much easier, so its lovely to be included and give a little back.

The July kit has been revealed as the Confidence Kit by Scrapbooking From The Inside Out and is pictured below.

I was a little hesitant when I first saw it as it reminded me of Christmas colours but also the geometricness (if there is such a word!) and the darkness of some of the papers were not things I would naturally pick.

This is my version I have used a slightly brighter green than the kit and have tried to keep the geometric patterns but have used slightly lighter patterns and colours.

I have used my Silhouette to cut some polaroid frames and project life style journaling card.
Feel I have picked similar colours and the same pattern selection.

Papers are Jillibean Soup, Do Crafts, MME and a few without names.

Selection of Thickers and other letters
Some wooden hearts, rub ons and washi tape, I have another reel of green washi somewhere which I will be adding once I have cleared my craft table!

For some Fantastic inspiration hop along to see the rest of the teams take on the kit, the top one is me!

Counterfeit Master Forger Blog Hop

Welcome to the CKCB members Blog Hop,
it's great to meet you if you haven't stopped by before.

If you are on the hop you should have arrived from Jemma's blog
This month's challenge was to take inspiration from the CKCB Design Team's Blogs and come up with a layout.

I liked this layout created by Angela, I especially liked the circles and the way it highlighted the photo.

I chose one of my favourite pictures of my son taken at Colchester Zoo when he was 3 as the layout seems to need a strong photo as the bold patterns could be overwhelming.

Thanks for stopping by and now you should hop over to Lesley's Blog and see her take on the challenge.
The full blog hop list on CKCB so if you get lost along the way, head over there to find your way back onto the hop.
Don't forget to leave me a comment to let me know you were here and happy hopping!"

Have I got scrap for you Challenge

The Challenge set on the UKS forum by Niki was to use some very bold paper that you have been reluctant to use due to its large print.

I chose Crate Paper - Paper Heart Collection.

As well as using the paper as a background to the photo I also cut out some of the flowers to embellish the design as well as die cutting the Title out of the bold paper.

I was very surprised when such a bold design lent itself to a New Baby Layout.

It's not quite Disney but I like it!

Well after thinking I would use my Counterfeit kit for Disney photos
I haven't used any so far.
I am however very happy with the two pages I have completed.

The first one is my 2 beautiful girls the photo was a quick snap on my mobile phone
which  I adjusted with Instagram.

The second page uses Papermania All Aboard paper and some East of India stickers.
The photo was taken during a family day trip to London we are standing on the Millennium Bridge.

Simple Recipes Challenge

Another UKS challenge from the Simple Recipes collection.
The June 2013 challenge was to
1. Use the colours Ice Blue, Turquoise and Green Gold.
2.Scrap an old photo possibly a Christmas one.
3. Use patterned Alphas.
4. Use Washi Tape
5. Use old stash with a sprinkling of new.

So here's my offering the papers were old ones that I have had for several years,
Washi Tape stripes,
The Alphas have a woodgrain pattern on them,
Photos from Christmas 2008.

Really like the colours together the only downside is while looking for the date of the photos found another batch for the same day, so it looks like this will turn into a double page spread.

June Counterfeit Kit Challenge

I have really been looking foward to the new Counterfeit kit Challenge coming out and haven't been disappointed.

This months choices are both from Scraptastic and the kits are called after the storm and destination unknown. I chose destination unknown as I loved the bright pinks and yellows, and it seemed a nice change from the darker colours last month.
I loved the original kit so much I decided to make the add on to.

My Versions

Looking forward to using it all

A free stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine in the centre with some embossing from a Tim Holtz floral Stamp.

Another free Craft Stamper Stamp and some distress ink and a touch of Treasure Gold my new flavour embellisher.

Back to school counterfeit style

A double page spread using the last of my counterfeit kit.
The photos are of my sons first day at senior school and my Daughters first day in the sixth form last September.

I added a few Creative Memories back to school stickers to my kit as I had them hanging around and they seemed to fit the bill, along with some Thickers in aa American high school style .

Really pleased I joined the Counterfeit Challenge has made me complete use some different colourways and lingering items.

Happy Birthday Harry

A birthday card for my son who is 12 today!
I have used the May counterfeit kit Challenge papers which made me use a different selection of colours to normal.
I used a Papermania Sausage Dog rubber stamp and used a card made for the March/April 2013 Docrafts Creativity magazine as my inspiration for the design.

May Counterfeit challenge Page

Love these photos of us in Frankie and Benny's where the kids were playing a guessing game with the kids pack that came with Daisy's dinner.

I have used my version of the Totally Rad kit suggested by the counterfeit kit challenge using some MME and AC papers.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge - May

Pennies are a bit tight and I have had to cancel my usual monthly kit so I decided to take some inspiration from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for May.
The idea is to make your own kit from your stash using a shop kit as a starting point.
Here is my version of the kit originally made by Polly Scraps Kits and its called Totally Rad!
I had some die cuts already cut and have added a sheet of craft as in my 2013 Album I am trying to incorporate alittle on each page to make it more consistent

A page for Jools

My first Circle Journal adventure has begun!
On UKScrappers the chance of joining others new to Circle Journals has arisen and my first pages have been made and posted to Jools. Her Journal is called In these shoes, so I completed the page below about my Converse boots which I wore throughout my wedding reception under my wedding dress. I was really pleased to be in the position to create these pages as it made me take some photos of my beloved boots and beautiful wedding dress together as not one photograph of my shoes was taken on the day.

The pages are 6 x 4 and I cut the holes and wording with my Cameo and stuck the red and blue matching paper behind. The technique was originally described to me during a cybercrop on UKScrappers.
The story of my shoes are featured in the little fold out book.

Affirmation Postcard Swap

Some postcards I made for  swap on UKScrappers.

The yellow card is made using alcohol inks and stampers anonymous stamp from Tim Holtz.

The pink/ orange card is made with Dylussions sprayed through a mask, distress inks and another set of Tim Holtz stamps.
