A page for Jools

My first Circle Journal adventure has begun!
On UKScrappers the chance of joining others new to Circle Journals has arisen and my first pages have been made and posted to Jools. Her Journal is called In these shoes, so I completed the page below about my Converse boots which I wore throughout my wedding reception under my wedding dress. I was really pleased to be in the position to create these pages as it made me take some photos of my beloved boots and beautiful wedding dress together as not one photograph of my shoes was taken on the day.

The pages are 6 x 4 and I cut the holes and wording with my Cameo and stuck the red and blue matching paper behind. The technique was originally described to me during a cybercrop on UKScrappers.
The story of my shoes are featured in the little fold out book.

Affirmation Postcard Swap

Some postcards I made for  swap on UKScrappers.
The original plan had been to make 3 postcards with positive affirmations on to swap with each, but in the end we decided to make 3 positive and 3 alternative affirmation cards.

The yellow card is made using alcohol inks and stampers anonymous stamp from Tim Holtz.

The pink/ orange card is made with Dylussions sprayed through a mask, distress inks and another set of Tim Holtz stamps.

Mixed Ink and Tim's Tags Inspired Card

I created the below card for my Dad's Birthday, I wanted to use the Stampers Anonymous stamps as I had received them from my Dad for Christmas.

My initial idea had been to make a card inspired by Tim Holtz January 2013 tag, but it didn't seem right for the card so just used some elements of it, including my first go with the metallic distress inks.

During the process I read about a challenge to create new colours using ranger inks so used Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise and Pure Sunshine mixed together along with wrinkle free distress to create alot of the background splodges. I then followed this with Dylusions Bubblegum Pink and Crushed Grape mixed together and splattered across the frames trying to give the whole thing the appearance of an ancient lost drawing.

Pleased with the techniques I played with and will use them again.

Washi Tag Swap

Another UKScrappers challenge this time to use washi tape. I have several rolls as it keeps calling me but I've never really been sure what to do with it. I had purchased Quick Cards Magazine which had a feature on Washi tape and got the idea of covering card with the tape and die cutting it from there. The tape was all from Paperchase. I really like the background its stamped with craftwork cards alphabet stamps on Kraft an effect I will definately try again.

Flowers and Friends

Another page from the last Cyber crop, I used many scraps of paper, a bit of washi tape and some background stamps, was pleased with the freshness of the page and the colours used remind me of the day at the local fete.

Love at first sight

A page completed during the UKScrappers cybercrop. I used Kraft for the background and MME papers. Especially liked the frill made by folding grey and white washi tape.

Thrilled with this layout for my wedding album, I used a class called patchworkpapers by SuzySnail on UKScrappers as the inspiration. The patchwok pieces were cut with a square punch and then cut in half and arranged on the background paper.
